She earned her Bachelors of Education specializing in Reading and Earth Science from Tarleton State University. She is married to Stacy Smith, and has two children; a daughter who is 11 and a son who is 5. She grew up in nearby Lampasas. Mrs. Smith was chosen as the PTO's teacher of the month for November! She received a $10 gift card to the Elk Stop!
