Bio

I have been in education for 16 years, taught at seven different School Districts, and taught Math my whole career.  I also play the role of a Husband, Dad, Teacher, Coach, Reservist and Rancher.  My schedule is a busy one, but one that I love to take on every single day.   Being a Coach/Teacher is a demanding profession, but a rewarding profession at the same time.    I have a beautiful family that I enjoy spending time with at home.   We enjoy fishing together and staying in Hotels!!   I am a 93' Hamilton High School Alumni. I served in the Navy for 6 years.  I currently serve in the Airforce Reserve and have a degree in Business Administration.

Geometry -

Geometry is a course that uses logic, reasoning, and critical thinking skills in order to reach conclusions. Many postulates, definitions, and theorems are learned.

Topics covered include:

  • Points, lines, planes and angles
  • Deductive reasoning
  • Parallel and perpendicular lines and planes
  • Congruent triangles
  • Quadrilaterals and other polygons
  • Inequalities
  • Similar polygons
  • Circles
  • Constructions and loci
  • Areas and perimeters of plane figures
  • Areas and volumes of solids
  • Coordinate geometry
  • Transformations
 
 

Math Models -

Math Models is an appllications course with financial emphasis. Students will investigate decision making related to earning, spending, borrowing, and investing money. MMA reinforces skills learned in Algebra 1 and Geometry. It prepares students to be more successful in Algebra 2.

Prerequisites: Algebra 1 & Geometry

 
Algebra II -

Algebra 2 students will build on their knowledge from Algebra 1 to broaden their understanding of quadratic and exponential functions, as well as extend their study of systems of equations. Additional functional relationships, transformations and inverses are explored in this course. 

Topics covered include: Variation, quadratic relations, parent functions, logarithms
