P-TECH stands for Pathways in Technology Early College High School. This program allows students to receive both a high school diploma and a credential and/or an associate degree. The hallmark of the P -TECH model is its career focus and the provision of work -based education.

Dr. Jennifer Ingram: Superintendent/PTECH Supervisor - The Superintendent will collaborate with the district’s administrative team regarding implementation of the P-TECH model. This role oversees the financial sustainability of the program. The Superintendent collaborates with the partner IHE in the development of the MOU and with the Leadership Team to complete the designation application and submit it to the Texas Education Agency.

Mr. Jesse Spruiell: Principal - The Principal oversees the day to day operations of the program. The principal serves as the chief administrator of the P-TECH program in developing and implementing policies, development of the master schedule, curriculum activities, programs, professional development and budget in a manner that promotes the educational development of staff and students.

Mrs. Jessica Buck: Counselor - The Counselor has the responsibility of academic advising to assist students in developing meaningful educational plans that meet the requirements of high school graduation and crosswalk that lead to an associate degree. The counselor collaborates with the administrative team, the IHE liaison, and college advisers to facilitate transition to college, preparation for postsecondary readiness exams, and pathways to earn an associate degree. The recruitment, retention, and advising of students on the benefits of the P-TECH program is a critical role of the counselor.

Mrs. Stacey Lowery: PTECH Coordinator-The P-TECH Coordinator is accountable for leading the effective launch and continuous administration of the P-TECH program at Evant High School. This position entails facilitating collaboration among the high school, college, and industry partners to deliver a smooth, academically enriched, and career-oriented experience for students. Additionally, the Coordinator organizes Summer Bridge activities, including college and industry tours. They provide leadership, uphold program integrity, promote student achievement, and foster strong relationships with stakeholders to align with the objectives of the P-TECH model.

The Pathways in Technology Early College High School (P-TECH) shall target and enroll historically underserved students. The campus must enable students who are at-risk of dropping out or those who wish to accelerate completion of high school to combine high school courses and college-level courses. Every P-TECH must enroll at least a 9th grade class during their first year of implementation. If a P-TECH phases out their services, the academy must be prepared to provide services to each enrolled cohort through graduation.

The Pathways in Technology Early College High School (P-TECH) must provide a rigorous course of study that allows students the opportunity to earn a high school diploma and enable a student to combine high school courses and college-level courses with the goal of earning industry-based certifications, certificates, and/or an associate degree and engage in appropriate work-based learning at every grade level.

Evant High School, in partnership with Ranger College offers students concurrent enrollment for this program. There is no cost to the students; Evant ISD pays for tuition, textbooks, and instructional fees.
Why choose the P-Tech Pathway?
Students choosing this degree plan will be able to pursue a wide variety of job opportunities in information technology, financial education, and agricultural sciences. Career opportunities will be available to those obtaining certification in the fields of Welding and Business Administration.
