Reminder about students with illnesses & our School Illness/Wellness Policy from the School Nurse
If your student is, or has recently experienced fever, vomiting, or diarrhea, then you must be out of school for at least 24 hours after the symptoms are gone without the use of medication.
Medication is helpful to support the child while they are ill, but may suppress symptoms of a contagious illness. The 24 hours are very important to keep other students and our teachers healthy.
For example, if Suzy experiences vomiting or fever on Tuesday, then please keep her home and care for her, but she should not return to school until the illness has ceased for 24 hours not counting those hours when she was under medication. Children on medication may continue to be contagious to other students..
Thank you,
Evant ISD
