Evant Varsity Lady Elks Beat Mullin Bulldogs Thanks To Luwi Rodriguez
A strong performance from Luwi Rodriguez, helped the Evant Varsity Lady Elks defeat the Mullin Bulldogs, 47-21, on Tuesday, 11/26. Rodriguez scored 14 points to lead the way for Evant Varsity Lady Elks. The Lady Elks never trailed in the game. Their biggest lead was by 28 points.
Leading 16-6, the Lady Elks went on a 12-point run to pull further away. They got out to a 28-10 lead at halftime before closing out the victory.
The first quarter was the best for Evant as they outscored Mullin 18-6. Evant had seven assists in that quarter. The Lady Elks' 18-28 shooting on twos was a key factor in the game. They shot well from distance, going 2-6 from three-point range and controlled the paint, grabbing 39 rebounds. Brinlea Bates led the team with nine rebounds.
The Lady Elks passed the ball well with 16 assists on 20 made baskets. Rodriguez led the team with eight assists. Lady Elks's ball pressure forced 12 steals in the game. Rodriguez led the team with four steals. Also contributing for the Varsity girls were Molly Waldrum (8 points), Izzy Gandy (7 points), Daritza Escamilla (6 points), Bree Ramirez (4 points), Lexie King (4 points), Madison Barron (4 points), and Bates (2 points).
Evant Varsity Lady Elks plays at home on Tuesday against Three Way in their next game.

Evant Varsity Lady Elks Beat Blanket Tigers
A strong performance from Luwi Rodriguez, helped Evant Varsity Lady Elks defeat Blanket Tigers, 39-28, on Friday. Rodriguez scored 20 points to lead the way for Evant Varsity Lady Elks.
Evant Varsity Lady Elks had a strong first half, leading 15-13 at halftime and never looked back, securing the victory. Trailing 21-20, Evant Varsity Lady Elks went on an 11-point run to take the lead.
Rodriguez poured in 15 points in the second half as Evant Varsity Lady Elks outscored Blanket Tigers 24-15.
Rodriguez made eight of 14 free throws, and Evant Varsity Lady Elks attempted 22. Evant Varsity Lady Elks controlled the paint, grabbing 35 rebounds. Bree Ramirez led the team with 11 rebounds. Evant Varsity Lady Elks passed the ball well with 10 assists on 14 made baskets. Additional scorers for Evant Varsity Lady Elks included Molly Waldrum (10 points), Daritza Escamilla (3 points), Ramirez (2 points), and Brinlea Bates (2 points).
Next up for Evant Varsity Lady Elks is a game against Mullin Bulldogs on Tuesday, 11/26.
11/19: Lady Elk Basketball- Evant Varsity Girls fall to Priddy in back and forth contest that had 7 lead changes. The Lady Elks had a strong first half, lincluding a 9-8 second quarter, their strongest of the game. They were leading 20-19 at halftime, but ultimately fell in the end. Trailing 30-29, Priddy went on a 10-3 run, taking the lead.
